Engage (Apptegy)
What: Engage is Weber School District’s mass communication tool for emailing parents and students within each school. It allows newsletters, announcements, and targeted emails (such as to specific grade levels, PTA groups, or activity lists) to be sent efficiently.

When: Engage is used for newsletters, informational emails, and communications that may include attachments or need to be directed to specific groups.

Who: Building administrators have access to Engage. For help, contact Geoff Brooks at gebrooks@wsd.net.

How: Engage is accessed through the Apptegy dashboard. Administrators log in to create and send emails to groups already connected through PowerSchool.

Alerts (Apptegy)
What: Alerts is Weber School District’s emergency communication tool. It allows district and school leaders to quickly send time-sensitive notifications, such as school closures, safety alerts, or urgent announcements, via app notifications, text, email, and voice.

When: Alerts is used only for emergency or urgent messaging that requires immediate attention.

Who: District and building administrators have access to Alerts.

How: Alerts are sent through the thrillshare dashboard, ensuring fast delivery across multiple communication channels simultaneously.

Campus-Level Rooms (Apptegy Rooms)
What: Rooms is a communication platform integrated into the Weber School District mobile app. At the campus level, it is used by teachers and administrators to communicate with parents and students in classrooms, clubs, and activities. Parents and students are automatically connected through PowerSchool, eliminating the need for manual sign-ups.

When: Rooms is designed for classroom communication, club and athletic updates, and ongoing parent–teacher messaging.

Who: All teachers and administrators in Weber School District can use Rooms. Parents and students should reach out to their school or teacher with questions about access.

How: Parents and students log in to the Weber School District app using the phone number that is in their PowerSchool account to access Rooms. Teachers and administrators log in through thrillshare.com or the thrillshare app.
