Roy Jr. High hosted a meaningful Veterans Day celebration that brought students, staff, and community members together in recognition of local veterans. The event began with a special breakfast during first period, where visiting veterans were served muffins, sausage prepared on a Traeger grill, and fresh fruit.
Following the breakfast, the school held its annual Veterans Day assembly. Students learned about the significance of Veterans Day and participated in a moment of recognition for the veterans in attendance. This year had an amazing turnout, with approximately 60 veterans joining the celebration!
To add to the occasion, the FCCLA chapter contributed through a service project. Members stayed after school to bake roughly 500 cookies, which were packaged in decorative boxes and handed out to veterans as they left the assembly. Student participation was strong, with many eager to help support the effort.
The event reflected the school's ongoing dedication to honoring service members while fostering a spirit of gratitude and community involvement among students. Thank you to all veterans for your service and sacrifice.
