Valley View is currently a Title I school which provides all day Kindergarten and a full time counselor at the school. The school is in the process of applying to become a "No Excuses University." The goal is for every child to start preparing for college now.
Valley View Elementary was built in 1964, and was designed as an open concept building. The building was separated into 6 pods each of which have 3 classrooms which were not separated by walls or partitions. In the late 80's, the pods had accordion curtains installed that were used to separate the classrooms. Within the last 10 years, the school has undergone renovations which include a new computer lab, a new library and the accordion curtains were replaced with walls and storage units. The carpet has all been recently replaced and the walls have been freshly painted.
