Note: There are two Uintah Elementary schools in Utah. We are located in South Ogden, not Salt Lake City. Our policy is to feed students no matter the situation and work out the deficit balances with the parents.

Uintah Elementary opened its doors for the 1977-78 school year on August 29, 1977.  Uintah Elementary was dedicated on March 1, 1978.  Our Superintendent was Leland Burningham.  Mr. Gary Francis was the first principal at Uintah and Betty Reed was secretary.  Floyd Naylor was the custodian and unit manager, Jayne Moore.  There were 19 teachers hired for our new school as well as a librarian and two playground supervisors.   PTA president was Suzanne Patterson.  On July 21, 1978, a bond was issued for a seven- classroom addition to the school. The bond was for $444,000.
