The Department of Assessment and Testing is committed to helping administrators, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders better understand and use available data related to student performance in Weber School District. Our goal is to establish a climate of data-driven decision making in instructional planning throughout the district.
Our department is responsible for all norm and criterion referenced tests required by the state of Utah Performance Assessment System for Students (U-PASS) and the related federal legislation dictated in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (formerly known as NCLB). U-PASS includes: The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), the Direct Writing Assessment (DWA), and the State Core Criterion Referenced Tests (CRT). Information about these tests is available at the district and state level.
Our department is also responsible for the review and approval of special projects by investigators seeking our district's participation in research. Such studies are generally connected to teachers pursuing advanced degrees.
